'Seniors on Wheels', a division of 'Kids on Wheels', is a personal transportation service operating in Durham Region. We cater to seniors who are independently mobile but have no means of transportation of their own. We are also an excellent option for those who are temporarily unable to drive themselves for any reason.
'Seniors on Wheels' provides to its members a “Private Chauffeur” who will be both a door-to-door driver and a caring, supportive companion for the entire trip. Our services include transportation to hospitals and medical appointments, community activities, personal shopping, and all other needs.
We collaborated with Jill's Humble Pies and prepared Christmas socks for seniors.
We joined forces with food banks, such as Feed the Need, to help with pick up and deliveries.
We work in conjunction with Community Care to provide a better active life for seniors.
"She has certainly enjoyed her time with you and your son. She has mentioned many times what a fine young man he is and wanted me to let you know you should be very proud of him. Thank you as well for taking such good care of her for me. It means so much to know that she is well cared for when I couldn’t be there. I’m sure we will use your service again in the future – it has truly been a wonderful experience."
"Hi Seniors on Wheels, My husband and I are so grateful for the service you provide for my mother, Eunice. Without your wonderful, caring drivers she would not be able to attend the day program in Whitby and would be home alone. They always walk her to the door and make sure she’s in our home safely. She loves chatting with the drivers and always tells me when handsome George brings her home!
Thanks for the wonderful job you do!"
Mrs. Esson has been a wonderful ambassador for us at Taunton Mills, both by spreading the word about Seniors on Wheels to her fellow residents, and in providing suggestions to us how we might better serve the community. “When I first moved here I had trouble finding any company that was able to provide drives specifically for seniors. I had given up driving, but I still needed to be able to go out for appointments. I first heard about Seniors on Wheels when Angie came to drop off cards for her new business. I think there’s a great need for her service, and I’ve used it several times over the past year. Angie has a heart of gold and has always looked after me very well. I very much recommend Seniors on Wheels to anyone who needs to travel out into the community.”
